NBC Prime Time Show Promos Get IVA Distribution

IVA is pleased to announce that NBC is now providing IVA with a regular feed of promos for its prime time scripted shows.  This expanded selection of  high quality videos is  available to IVA clients in all our formats and can reach any screen from mobile to IPTV.

NBC series and season “First Looks” and previews will introduce audiences to the characters along with storyline for the series or the season. All promotional content will be displayed inside the IVA database in the appropriate series, season, and episode. Some programs will also have clips and/or “highlights” attached to individual episodes, however not every episode of every show will have promotional content available.  Anticipated delivery of promotional content can vary from weeks in advance to day of broadcast.

Here are some of the programs for which we are now receiving content: The Blacklist, About a Boy, Marry Me, The Mysteries of Laura, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago P.D., State of Affairs, Chicago Fire, Parenthood, Grimm, Constantine.

To view the NBC content, log in to your Media Manager account and search for the desired titles which may have content for the series, the season, and/or the episode.

There are some business rules that NBC would like you to follow.

  1. Each video has an official link that IVA includes as part of data about each program. NBC would like our partners to publish this link along with the description of the video which will help drive consumers to the NBC site and apps for a more immersive experience about the program.
  2. Much of this content will be programmed with an expiration date.   The links will go dead on the sunset dates, so you should plan accordingly.
  3. NBC does not allow pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll ads in conjunction with their content.  Our oData 2.0 API contains an “AllowAds” field that designates whether or not ads can be placed against a particular video.  All NBC videos will be flagged “no ads”.  Any client who places ads on NBC content may have future NBC content blocked.  If you are using the IVA player platform, it has been pre-programmed to account for any “no ad” policies.

IVA continues to spearhead online promotion of TV content, and has been working hard to obtain promotional video from a variety of television content creators.  NBC has embraced the value of IVA’s promotional network and is providing us with content that will not be widely distributed.  This means added value to the IVA partners engaged in content discovery and retail and should drive engagement for all of you.
