Getting video on your site
Getting the video is the third step in getting trailers on your site. By now, you should have your credentials and account. You've identified the titles you want and gotten their Published IDs (If not,see IVA OData API Documentation.) You should have a player ready to receive video, and that means you should have decided whether or not you will be using our Free Trailer API (which comes with a player), building a player inside Media Manager, or putting video into a player you have already built. You may want to review the features that come with free vs subscriptions as described on our services page. IVA has thousands of video assets available in formats designed to reach any screen, so keep reading.
Using IVA's free ad-supported player
Getting trailers using our free ad supported player is simple. You've used the OData API 1.0 to get the Published ID of the video asset you would like to play. Now use our Free Trailer API to embed our player on your site and play the video. Check out the Quick Start Guide for our Free Trailer API.
Paid Subscribers
Using Flash Player Manager A paid subscription provides access to Media Manager, IVA's Content Management System (CMS) where you can create your own custom Flash player. Our latest Cross Platform Player V5 is based on Longtail's JW player and works on iPads, iPhones, and iPods. It has automatic bandwidth detection, screen size optimization, automatic browser detection, and HTML5 support is built in. Log into Media Manager and click 'Flash Player'. The Flash Player Manager let's you choose from an existing player on our Player List, or build your own. Build more than one player, and give them each names (Home page player), and pick the layout, behaviors, and other properties you want. Check out our many plug ins for social media, shopping, advertising, HD, age-gates, and more. Once you've created your player, you simply pass the Published ID's you got from the OData API to the player. Voila - the trailers play!
Using Your Own Player If you plan on using a player that you've built outside of IVA's Media Manager, you should read the documentation on how to create secure links to the video assets using the Video API. You can also check out the article in the IVA Odata API documentation on how to generate URL's to video content for an alternate way to create the links.
