The EIDR organization is currently working on the Best Practices around Supplemental Content. In an attempt to provide guidance and best practices during the transition period the follow document outlines the procedure and best practices for registering a Supplemental Trailer record for Theatrical Content.
2 Practice
In general the creation of the Supplemental record for a Trailer is similar to that of any other root Level Object in EIDR. In this section we will identify the key best practices around the constriction of these records. To create a Supplemental Referent Type record, Trailer you need to construct the data in the following manner.
2.1 Structural & Referent Type
The Trailer should be considered a root level object, and should therefore be identified with the Structural Type of “Abstract”. In addition as a Trailer it should be identified as a Referent Type of “Supplemental”.
-
Structural Type: Abstraction
-
Referent Type: Supplemental
2.2 Title
The title needs to refer the original work for which is it intended to be a trailer of in the Title. It is important that an identifying name is used to allow de‐duplication of these records.
